UPGRADING YOUR EXISTING WEBTOP INSTALLTION ================================================================ This file is meant to give you a quick look at what you will need to do when upgrading your webtop installation from an older version to this version. Most of the time, the recommended procedure is to install the new webtop files in a new directory, copy over your .properties files from your older webtop installation, and point your app server at the new webtop installation. If anything goes wrong, you can easily revert back to your old installation until the problems can be resolved. Any database changes (from here on) will be called out explicitly in this file and in the changelog. We will also make an effort to provide SQL scripts that will upgrade your database for you. Here is a breakdown of the changes needing to be made for past installations: UPGRADING FROM VERSION 1.35 to 1.40 ------------------------------------- 1.
